Guten Tag and Welcome to Germany!
I am Andra, a dedicated business development consultant.
With a distinctive fusion of a business development mindset, technical expertise and cross-cultural experience, I specialise in assisting technology-driven firms selling their products and services in Germany (B2B).
My Core Services are
(1) German Market Research & Consulting,
(2) Sales & Business Development in Germany, and
(3) Trade Show Support for German industry events.
Connecting Tech and Bridging Cultures
Armed with a Business Administration degree majoring in Logistics, and a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Communications and Co-operation, I merge analytical thinking with profound cultural insights. This dual skill set underpins my approach in navigating foreign tech businesses through the German market landscape.
I’m deeply passionate about innovative and tech-related topics and industries, such as electronics, MedTech, IoT, AI, and injection moulding. My journey with your business begins with a deep dive into your products, goals and specific market challenges. This knowledge forms the foundation for developing tailored business development strategies.
On the other hand, I love fostering a successful intercultural business communication between my foreign clients and their new German partners, customers, and redistributors. Simply put: When I connect businesses, I ensure that not only the tech aligns but communication flows seamlessly too – setting the stage for a more straightforward market entry and sustained collaborations in Germany.
The Back Story
During an internship in 2001/02, I first realised that what business people in Germany consider “normal” does not apply everywhere else – or at least not in India. I survived the culture shock, and my interest in digging deeper into the topic of cultural differences eventually led me to enrol in a master’s program in Intercultural Communications and Co-operation a few years later. This academic education equipped me with the tools and right mindset to build bridges and connect people across cultures.
In 2013, I started offering my services as a freelancer, and I have since then developed my very own hands-on approach, building on my experience in sales and business development, now saving tech companies from various countries, like Denmark, Finland, France, the U.S., etcetera, from falling into the same pitfalls when dealing with Germans in initial sales meetings, negotiations or at trade fairs.
Naturally, I’ve established numerous valuable personal connections throughout my journey. When targeting German companies, my tailored approach opens many doors, especially when you cannot rely on a broad network of your own just yet.
University Lecturer, Published Author, and Self-Made Cartoonist
Beyond freelance consulting and a very distant past in media marketing, I share my insights as a visiting lecturer in logistics, materials management, organisational theory, and intercultural management at various German universities. Here, I am in touch with business innovation, young international minds, and the latest German market developments.
I have also published several books. The most recent one, “Doing Business in Germany” is a comprehensive guide on how to successfully interact with Germans to develop successful business relationships. You can download the e-book or order a hard copy (164 pages) from Amazon or other online retailers.
Furthermore, I love drawing cartoons. In 2020, I developed my own cartoon series “Dr. Müller & Kollegen”, illustrating the very German way of doing things.
Happy to meet you in one of the wonderful beer gardens in my home-city Munich. If that is too far away, follow me on LinkedIn or send me a message, I am very much looking forward to talking to you!
